Topics and Content in the B1 German Course

In the B1 intermediate German course, you will learn:

Communication in all situations in private life, such as with family, friends, neighbors, and colleagues. Detailed speaking about interests, hobbies, experiences, wishes, dreams. Polite and respectful expressions. Linguistic tools for written communication.

You will learn further elements of German grammar, e.g., subordinate clauses, past tense, subjunctive, genitive, and passive voice. You will continue practicing the use of accusative, dative, perfect tense, and verbs with fixed prepositions.

You will learn interesting facts about life in Germany and Austria, cultural habits, and unwritten rules, and you will better understand the cultural differences compared to other countries.

The B1 course prepares you for the ÖSD exam (Austrian German Language Diploma). The course content follows the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages.
