German course A0 – for children aged 5–7

This course is suitable for children who are in their last year of kindergarten or in the first year of primary school. Writing skills are not yet required.
The children learn pronunciation and the use of simple words, especially nouns, verbs, and adjectives, and their use in simple sentences. The tense used is the present.
We read and tell short stories, play word games, practice describing and comparing, the imperative, and other simple forms of communication.
Age-appropriate learning materials help the children take their first steps in the German language quickly.

Course A1 for children aged 7 to 12

Course A1 is suitable for children who have no knowledge of German yet, but already master the Latin alphabet and speak their mother tongue fluently. With age-appropriate teaching materials, we learn the basics of the German language, acquire knowledge in vocabulary and grammar that are necessary in daily life. We practice the correct pronunciation and spelling of nouns and verbs and how they are used in simpler sentences. We focus on the present tense and the nominative and accusative cases. The correct use of the articles of nouns as well as the associated possessive pronouns are practiced from the very beginning. Age-appropriate listening exercises, short stories, language games, and partner work round off the lessons. The students receive homework and additional learning materials and resources (e.g., on YouTube) to quickly build and improve the most important structures of the German language.

German beginner course for children

German course A2 for children aged 7 to 12

This German course is suitable for children who can already write and have some prior knowledge of the German language, but need to improve their German. We practice the correct use of the accusative and dative cases, learn and practice the spoken past (perfect) and the use of simple subordinate clauses (e.g., after because, that, whether, if).

Age-appropriate materials, short stories, learning videos, and role-playing contribute to quick learning success.
We also practice the spelling of words and writing short texts.

We try to encourage the children to speak and to take away their fear of making mistakes. The children experience that they can be understood in German and can communicate, both with peers and with adults.
For each lesson, there are additional learning materials and homework assignments. At the end of the course, we conduct a practice test to assess the skills achieved.
